Every digital cinema projector on earth reads DCP files. When your film goes to a festival, a theatrical release, or a special screening, it goes as a DCP. The quality of the DCP — and whether it plays correctly on every screen it encounters — depends on the process used to create it.
Trisha Studios creates DCPs directly from the FilmLight Baselight grade output: the DCDM (Digital Cinema Distribution Master) is generated natively by Baselight's ACES output pipeline, then encoded to JPEG 2000 MXF. The result is a theatrically accurate representation of the graded image with no additional generation loss.
We manage the complete theatrical delivery pipeline: DCP creation, technical verification, KDM encryption and management, and distribution coordination. For festivals, we handle venue-specific KDMs and delivery logistics.

Common Questions
How early should we commission a DCP before theatrical release?
Allow a minimum of 2–3 weeks from a locked and approved grade to theatrical delivery. For wide releases distributing to multiple circuits, allow 3–4 weeks. Festival DCPs for known submission deadlines should be commissioned as early as possible.
Does a DCP need to be tested before it goes to a cinema?
Yes, absolutely. A DCP should always be tested on a DCI-compliant playback system before it leaves the facility. We test every DCP on our calibrated IMB system as part of the delivery process.
